Basics 2 Beastly – Re-imagining what a workout app should do

I started by journey to a better health about 12 years ago. I finally stopped smoking and wanted a healthier lifestyle. I read many books and tried many things. In the end I realized, keep it simple.

“SImple and Sinister”

I found this great book by “Pavel Tsatsouline”, the premise was so simple. Every 30 seconds do 5 pushups, after 2 minutes rest for a minute. Do this till you did 100 pushups and repeat with kettlebell. Simple, easy, annoying: I had to stare at a clock, set an alarm, hit a stopwatch. I yearned for an app that could do this for me, something that I simply hit a button and it notified me of next set/rep so I could just focus on my workout. I finally made that app and called it “Basics 2 Beastly”, keep at this very basic idea and get results.
